These beautiful complex Aegirine specimens are exceptional. Hand selected, each specimen in this lot is unique and most worthy of any collection. From Zomba, Malaw. Aegirine is a member of the Pyroxene group, a sodium iron silicate that forms as long, prismatic crystals often terminated by a steep asymmetrical pyramid. It may also form as compact and fibrous disseminated grains. Aegirine specimens from Malawi range in thickness and size from needle-like to massive singles. The color ranges from black shiny and matte to more fibrous green crystals. Malawi yields an amazing range of specimens particularly complex acicular clusters associated to Smokey Quartz, Orthoclase, Zircon and Feldspar.
